I remember hearing this several times since 92. I was 11 then. Strangely, the undying spirit of Mumbaikars seem to be literally the “undying” spirit. Regardless of the enormity of the situations that we confront, individually or collectively, in our daily lives, we call upon the famous undying spirit to nurse our deflated egos and bruised souls.
I was waiting for a train to head home from Bandra when I witnessed a pickpocketer run after stealing his loot. He escaped, thanks to our spirits. The scene was summed up by a bystander.
